Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface -J533-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Notes

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Fiber-Optic Repair Set - Connector Protective Caps VAS6223/9 from Fiber Optic Repair Set VAS6223

Removal

-- If the control module was replaced, select the "Replace" function for the respective control module in "Guided Fault Finding" or "Guided Functions" Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

-- Turn off the ignition and remove the key.

-- Remove driver's side upper instrument panel cover, refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL COVERS ON DRIVER SIDE OVERVIEW .

-- Remove screw -2- and remove Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface -J533- item -1- from bracket in direction of -arrow-.

-- Release securing bracket and disconnect electrical connector -3-.

-- Disconnect harness connector -4- for fiber-optic cable.

NOTE:

Protective cap prevents contamination of or mechanical damage to end face of fiber optic cable which would impair signal transmission.

-- Seal open harness connector -2- for fiber-optic cable using Fiber-Optic Repair Set - Connector Protective Caps VAS6223/9 item -1-.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- Install driver's side upper instrument panel cover, refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL COVERS ON DRIVER SIDE OVERVIEW .
