Subframe, FWD, Assembly Overview
1 - Subframe
- Removing and installing → Subframe, FWD, Removing and Installing
NOTE:
- Do not raise the vehicle at the subframe.
2 - Cover
- The arrow on the cover points in direction of travel
3 - Bolt, 3 Nm
4 - Nut
5 - Washer
6 - Washer
7 - Tension disc
- Always replace
- The detent edges face toward the bolt head.
8 - Bolt
NOTE:
- The length of the bolt depends on the VIN. Always check the VIN when replacing.
- First tighten all bolts to 50 Nm. Then tighten all bolts to specification.
- 150 Nm and an additional 90 turn
- Always replace
- The threaded plate in the body can be replaced.
9 - Self-locking nut
- Always replace
10 - Transverse Link
- Removing and installing → Transverse Link, Removing and Installing
11 - Bolt, 4 Nm
12 - Bolt
- 80 Nm and an additional 90 turn
- Always replace
13 - Cable channel
14 - Self-locking nut, 95 Nm
- Always replace
- Raise wheel bearing housing before tightening → Wheel Bearing Housing, Raising to Control Position to Tighten Bolts (except for vehicle alignment)
15 - Eccentric washer
- Inner bore with tab
16 - Tie Rod
- Removing and installing → Tie Rod, Removing and Installing
17 - Eccentric bolt
- Adjust toe after loosening → Rear Axle Toe, Adjusting .
- Do not turn more than 90 right or left (that is smallest to largest possible adjustment)
18 - Trapezoidal Control Arm
- Removing and installing → Trapezoidal Control Arm, Removing and Installing
19 - Self-locking nut
- Always replace
20 - Bolt
- 80 Nm plus an additional 90 turn
- Always replace
- Raise wheel bearing housing before tightening → Wheel Bearing Housing, Raising to Control Position to Tighten Bolts
21 - Bolt
- Always replace
22 - Self-locking nut
- 80 Nm plus an additional 90 turn
- Always replace
- Raise wheel bearing housing before tightening → Wheel Bearing Housing, Raising to Control Position to Tighten Bolts
23 - Bolt
NOTE:
- The length of the bolt depends on the VIN. Always check the VIN when replacing.
- First tighten all bolts to 50 Nm. Then tighten all bolts to specification.
- 150 Nm and an additional 90 turn
- Always replace

24 - Self-locking nut, 10 Nm
- Always replace
25 - Bolt, 10 Nm
26 - Left rear vehicle level control system sensor G76 and right rear vehicle level control system sensor G77
- Note that there are different versions with a "long" or "short" lever.
Only use the same version of the sensor. Do not install both versions together.
- Replace only as a complete unit → Rear Level Control System Sensor, Removing and Installing .
- The sensor lever must face toward the inside.
27 - Bolt, 50 Nm
- Not installed in all vehicles.

28 - Support
- Not installed in all vehicles.
