Transverse Link, Removing and Installing

NOTE:

Due to the inaccessibility of the inner bolt - 1 - , the transverse link can only be removed when the subframe has been removed.
Measure vehicle after repair → Wheel Alignment .

Removing

Remove AWD subframe → Subframe, AWD, Removing and Installing or the FWD subframe → Subframe, FWD, Removing and Installing .
Mark position of the eccentric bolt - 2 - to the wheel bearing housing, e.g. using a felt tip pen.
Separate connections - 1 - and - 2 -.

Installing

Transverse link - 2 - installation position on the subframe:

Tighten transverse link - 2 - on subframe by hand.
Place sleeve 3291/2 on rear subframe mount - 1 -.
Lay a ruler or a straight edge - A - on the sleeve 3291/2.
Position transverse link so the dimension - a - = 96 1 mm between the lower edge of the ruler and the center of the outer hole.

Install wheel bearing housing on the transverse link and tighten the new nut to 20 Nm. Note the marking applied to the wheel bearing housing for the eccentric bolt - 2 -.
Install subframe → Subframe, AWD, Removing and Installing .
Tighten threaded connection - 2 -
Perform vehicle alignment → Wheel Alignment .
