Wheel Bearing Unit, Removing and Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque wrench V.A.G 1332

Removing 

• Remove drive axle → Driveshaft, Removing and Installing .

• Remove bolts - 1  - , the brake carrier and brake disc.
• Remove upper bolts - 2  -.
• Raise suspension to remove the lower bolts.
• Remove lower bolts - 2  -.

• Remove wheel bearing unit from wheel bearing housing.

Installing 

Installation is in reverse order of removal.

• Insert wheel bearing unit in the wheel bearing housing and tighten bolts - 2  -.
• Install brake carrier and brake disc and tighten bolts - 1  - → 46 - BRAKES - MECHANICAL COMPONENTS .
• Install driveshaft → Installing  .
