Pressing wheel hub out of 92 mm diameter wheel bearing housing

Remove bearing inner race from hub.

NOTE:
  • Use a commercially available separating tool , e.g. Kukko 17/2

This deforms slide washer and it must be replaced.

  1. Press piece VW 473
  2. Assembly tool T40089/2
  3. Slide washer
  4. Wheel hub
  5. Thrust plate VW 401
NOTE:
  • Slide washer must be pressed on up to wheel bearing hub radius.

Pressing wheel hub into 92 mm diameter wheel bearing

  1. Punch VW 412
  2. Thrust plate VW 402
  3. Wheel hub
  4. Ball bearing
  5. Thrust plate VW 401
NOTE:
  • The reworked surface on the wheel bearing outer race faces down.
CAUTION: When installing or pressing in, make sure there is no dirt or contaminants between the thrust plate VW 401 - 5  - and the ball bearing - 4  -.
