Three-Point Seat Belt, Removing and Installing
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
- Torque wrench V.A.G 1332
1 - Belt relay
2 - Nut
3 - Upper B-pillar trim
4 - Belt
5 - Outside floor assembly anchorage point
6 - Belt roller/belt tensioner
- Removing
CAUTION:
Observe measures when disconnecting battery. → 27 - BATTERY, STARTER, GENERATOR, CRUISE CONTROL
- Disconnect battery.
- Remove anchorage point for outer floor assembly → Outside Floor Assembly Anchorage Point .
- Remove lower B-pillar trim → Lower B-Pillar Trim, Removing and Installing .
- Remove upper B-pillar trim → Upper B-Pillar Trim, Removing and Installing .
- Remove nut - 2 -.
- Remove belt relay - 1 -.
- Using a screwdriver, open fuse on connector - 7 - and disconnect connector.
- Remove screw - 8 -.
- Disengage belt roller - 6 -.
- Installing
- Engage locking pin on the rear side of belt reel - 6 - in direction of arrow.
- Install bolt - 8 -.
- Ensure connector - 7 - is engaged correctly.
- Push cable of connector - 7 - into clip - 9 -.
- Bolt belt relay - 1 - on with bolt - 2 -. Belt relay must level off without assistance in wearers direction.
- Continue the rest of the installation of the three-point seatbelt in the reverse order of removal.
- Make sure that three-point seat belt is not hindered by cables, wires, insulation mats etc.
- Connect the battery.

- Tightening torque 55 Nm.
