Ribbed belt pulley without overrunning clutch, removing and installing
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
- Socket 3310
- Torx T 50 socket
Removing
- Remove generator:
- 3.2l FSI engines → Vehicles with 3.2l FSI engines .
- 4.2l MPI engine → Vehicles with 4.2l MPI engine .
- 4.2l FSI engine → Vehicles with 4.2l FSI engines .
- 5.2l FSI engine → Vehicles with 5.2l FSI engines .
- Press off protective cap from generator pulley.
- Counterhold mounting nut using socket 3310 and rotate generator shaft clockwise to loosen it.
- Remove ribbed belt pulley.
Installing
Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:
- To tighten, rotate generator shaft clockwise.
- Clip protective cap onto generator pulley.
