Ribbed belt pulley with overrunning clutch, removing and installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Multi-point adapter 3400
• Torx T 50 socket

Removing 

• Remove generator:

• 3.2l FSI engines → Vehicles with 3.2l FSI engines .
• 4.2l MPI engine → Vehicles with 4.2l MPI engine .
• 4.2l FSI engine → Vehicles with 4.2l FSI engines .
• 5.2l FSI engine → Vehicles with 5.2l FSI engines .

• Press off protective cap from generator pulley.
• Counterhold pulley using multi-tooth adapter 3400 and rotate generator shaft clockwise to loosen it.

Installing 

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

• To tighten, rotate generator shaft clockwise.
• Clip protective cap onto generator pulley.
