Retainer for Battery Switch-Off Relay J655 or Battery Interrupt Igniter N253, removing and installing
Removing
NOTE:
- All cable ties opened or cut during engine removal must be reinstalled at the same locations during installation.
- Remove battery → Battery, removing and installing .
- Release clasps - arrows - and open flap - 1 -.
Vehicles up to approx. 06.2004:
- Remove nuts - 1 - and - 3 - from B+ wires.
- Remove Battery Switch-Off Relay J655 - 2 - from retainer.
NOTE:
- Disregard - 4 -.
Vehicles as of 07.2004:
- Remove nuts - 1 - and - 3 - from B+ wires.
- Remove Battery Interrupt Igniter N253 - 2 - from retainer.
NOTE:
- Disregard - 4 - and - 5 -.
All:
- Remove nuts - 3 - and - 4 -.
- Cut cable tie - 1 - and remove retainer - 2 - from body.
Installing
Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:
NOTE:
- During installation, re-install all cable ties at the same locations.
- Install battery Installing .
Tightening torques
