Evaporative emissions (EVAP) canister, removing and installing
NOTE:
- Checking for leaks → Diagnostic leak test, performing .
Removing
Observe safety precautions → Safety precautions when working on fuel supply system .
Observe rules for cleanliness → Rules for cleanliness .
- Remove EVAP canister cover at bottom of spare wheel well - arrows -.
- Remove sealing pieces above ventilation lines.
- Disconnect hose connection - 1 - at ventilation line.
NOTE:
- For vehicles with EVAP filter EVAP filter - Vehicles as of 11.04
- Separate ventilation lines - 2 - and - 3 -. Do this by pressing releasing ring - 4 - in direction - arrow A - and simultaneously pulling ventilation line off - arrow B -.
- Remove stud bolts - arrows - and remove EVAP canister.
Installing
Installation is in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Secure all hose connections using hose clamps appropriate for the model type .
