Stabilizer Bar, Removing and Installing
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
- Torque wrench V.A.G 1331
Removing
- Place vehicle on a hoist → Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels .
- On vehicles with an auxiliary heater, remove bolts - arrows - connecting the exhaust pipe to the noise insulation.
- Loosen quick-release fasteners - 1 - and - 2 - and remove noise insulation.
- Remove right and left couplings → Coupling, Removing and Installing .
- Remove right and left bolts - 2 - evenly and the stabilizer bar - 1 -.
- Check rubber bushing for cracks. If it is damaged, replace stabilizer bar.
Installing
Installation is in reverse order of removal. Observe the following when doing so:
- Insert stabilizer bar - 1 - in the engine carrier openings with the cast rubber bushings and clamps.
- Install right and left bolts - 2 - evenly and then tighten them.
- Install coupling → Coupling, Removing and Installing .
- Install noise insulation.
- Place vehicle on wheels → Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels .
