Stabilizer Bar, Removing and Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required 

• Torque wrench V.A.G 1331

Removing 

• Place vehicle on a hoist → Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels .

• On vehicles with an auxiliary heater, remove bolts - arrows  - connecting the exhaust pipe to the noise insulation.

• Loosen quick-release fasteners - 1  - and - 2  - and remove noise insulation.
• Remove right and left couplings → Coupling, Removing and Installing .

• Remove right and left bolts - 2  - evenly and the stabilizer bar - 1  -.
• Check rubber bushing for cracks. If it is damaged, replace stabilizer bar.

Installing 

Installation is in reverse order of removal. Observe the following when doing so:

• Insert stabilizer bar - 1  - in the engine carrier openings with the cast rubber bushings and clamps.
• Install right and left bolts - 2  - evenly and then tighten them.
• Install coupling → Coupling, Removing and Installing .
• Install noise insulation.

• Place vehicle on wheels → Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels .
