Vane pump, removing and installing:: Installing
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Especially observe the following during installation:
- Replace seals and gaskets.
- Before installing new pump on intake side, fill hydraulic oil and screw in by hand until oil escapes on pressure side.
- Secure all hose connections with new hose clamps .
- Turn hub by hand until oil runs out of the pressure side.
Installation position: The lettering "vorne" on the ribbed belt pulley faces in the direction of travel.
- Tighten power steering pump threaded connections - 3 -.
- Tighten bolts - 1 - for power steering pump belt pulley - 2 -.
- Tighten threaded connection - arrow - on the rear side of the power steering pump - 1 -.
Check the belt pulley alignment and adjust it
- Attach alignment gauge 3201 on A/C compressor pulley.
- Pump pulley must align with pulley for A/C compressor.
If two belt pulleys are not aligned:
- Remove pump belt pulley.
- Use shims to adjust distance so that two pulleys align.
- Then check ribbed belt pulley alignment using alignment gauge 3201. Repeat adjustment if necessary.
