Transmission, attaching to assembly stand

Holding fixture VW 313
Holding plate VW 309
Workshop crane V.A.G 1202 A

Work procedure

Remove transmission.

Attach attachment and holding rig 3457 to mounts on transmission housing and secure.
Attach transporting device to Holding Plate VW 309 and insert this in Holding Fixture VW 313 with help of shop crane.

CAUTION: Center of gravity of transmission is outside center of rotation at holding fixture. To turn the transmission, a second technician must hold the transmission housing to prevent back-swing.

NOTE:

If the filled transmission is turned upside down with the oil pan facing upward, the vents for transmission housing and final drive must be closed off.
