Charge air cooler, removing and installing: Removing

• Remove front bumper:

See FRONT BUMPER (AUDI RS6) .

• Drain coolant. See DRAINING .
• Remove air filter housing. See REMOVING .
• Remove bolts (arrows) and remove air guide from lock carrier.

• Disconnect electrical harness connectors -1- to -3- from bracket and disconnect it.
• Expose cables.

Remove left headlight:

• Remove bolts -1-. See Fig 3.
• Guide a long inner hex wrench -3- through hole and remove lower mounting bolt at headlight housing -2-. See Fig 3.

• Slide headlight slightly into recess on fender (arrow -1-) and then swing it out (arrow -2-).

• Disconnect electrical harness connector.
• Remove headlight forward and out.
• Remove top air intake hose (arrows).

• Remove bottom air intake hose (arrows).

• Unscrew bolt (arrow).

• Unscrew bolts (arrows) and remove guide.

• Disconnect coolant hoses at positions indicated by (arrows).

• Unscrew bolts (arrows) and remove brace -1-. See Fig 10.
• Remove rear air duct -2-.

• Unscrew bolt (arrow) and lift out charge air cooler.

• Remove auxiliary cooler, if necessary. See AUXILIARY COOLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
