TROUBLESHOOTING: ENGINE STOPS RUNNING WHILE DRIVING
| Symptom | Possible cause | Corrective action |
|---|---|---|
| With fuel gauge at less than 1/4-full: Engine stops running while driving (drive time greater than 10 min.) |
Fuel level sensor faulty | Check fuel level sensor resistance against specified values and repair if necessary. See FUEL LEVEL SENSORS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING . |
| Left side fuel level sensor incorrectly installed, causing the left intake pump to be raised, not permitting complete evacuation of left cavity. If so, there is approx. 10-14 liters (2.6-3.7 gal.) remaining in the left fuel tank cavity. |
Check installation of left-side fuel level sensor. See FUEL LEVEL SENSORS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING . |
