Rear window regulator, removing and installing: Notes

• Rear door trim removed

See REAR DOOR TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

1. Rear window regulator 
   • To remove, drill off rivet heads -2- and knock out rivet shafts
   • Securely rivet window at point designated by arrow first
2. Pop rivet (6x) 
   • To avoid contact corrosion, use only genuine Audi rivets
3. Door component carrier 
   • Removing and installing. See DOOR SHELL AND DOOR COMPONENT CARRIER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING  .
4. Window regulator motor 
   • Disconnect harness connector

     See DISCONNECTING WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR HARNESS CONNECTOR  .

   • After installing, run window up to stop.
   • Activate all power window switches ("up") for at least one second to activate automatic window raising/lowering.
5. Bolts (3x) 
   • 10 Nm (7 ft lb)
6. Clip 
   • Engage window regulator -1- in clip and close clip (arrow).

8. Damper washer 
9. Washer 
10. Locking washer
