In another control module a malfunction is indicated:

Wiring resistance max: 1.5 Ohm

See SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS .

NOTE:
  • Watch for possible loose contact in the wiring and connectors.
  • If malfunction is not indicated on all control modules, an interruption to the connecting point in the wiring could be the cause.

If no malfunction is determined and all control modules connected to the Bus system show malfunction, there is a malfunction in one of the other connected control modules.

If malfunction "Data Bus drive faulty" no longer appears, malfunction lies in one of the connected control modules.

If the malfunction "Databus drive faulty" appears again there is a malfunction in the instrument cluster or engine control module.

NOTE: By disconnecting the engine control module and connecting A/C control head -E87-, a faulty control module can be detected.

NOTE:
  • If there is a malfunction in the control module, data exchange with other control modules may be interrupted, although this malfunction does not directly affect the Can-Bus.
  • Different control modules are designed beginning with a specific part number for communication in the Can-Bus.
  • Interruptions in the voltage supply or in the Ground connection to one control module connected to the Can-Bus could lead to storage of this malfunction.
NOTE:
  • Watch for possible loose contact in the wiring and connectors.
  • This malfunction is only indicated by the control module, which awaits a specific telegram from another control module and can not evaluate it or recognize it.

If no malfunction is determined and this malfunction is also stored on another control module.
