Display group 017: engine RPM, compressor RPM, vehicle speed and auxiliary heater
Fig 1: Channel Identification Chart - Display Group 017, Channel 1 (Model Year 2000 And Up Vehicles)
NOTE:
Notes to display field 1:
- For vehicles with control head having part number beginning with index letter "M" the engine RPM is calculated by engine control module, and the calculated value is determined by Can-Bus to -E87-. If the engine control module can not supply requested information due to a component malfunction, a malfunction notice with data gram is sent, which requires the DTC memory be checked.
- Reception of information from engine control module is indicated in measuring value block display group 012. See DISPLAY GROUP 012: INFORMATION ON CAN-BUS FOR CONTROL HEAD HAVING PART NUMBERS BEGINNING WITH THE INDEX LETTER "M" .
Fig 2: Channel Identification Chart - Display Group 017, Channel 2 (Model Year 2000 And Up Vehicles)
Note to display fields 1 and 2:
For control head having part numbers up to Index "K:"
- Compressor RPM at 0% belt slip = ratio behavior 1.28 x engine RPM (6-Cyl. engine).
- Compressor RPM at 0% belt slip = ratio behavior 1.38 x engine RPM (8-Cyl. engine).
- Sender for RPM A/C compressor -G111- creates 4 Impulses per compressor rotation.
- Vehicles with Nippondenso/Denso compressor do not have an A/C compressor speed sensor -G111-. The display for this vehicle has no meaning.
For control head having part numbers beginning with the index letter "M:"
- For vehicles with control head having part number beginning with index letter "M" the vehicle speed is calculated by instrument cluster, the calculated value is determined by Can-Bus to -E87-. If the instrument cluster can not supply requested information due to a component malfunction, a malfunction notice with data gram is sent, which requires the DTC memory be checked. See ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC (OBD) .
- Reception of information from instrument cluster is indicated in measuring value block display group 012. See DISPLAY GROUP 012: INFORMATION ON CAN-BUS FOR CONTROL HEAD HAVING PART NUMBERS BEGINNING WITH THE INDEX LETTER "M" .
- Should the vehicle during On Board Diagnostic (OBD) not move more than 1 km/h, this speed is indicated.

Note to display fields 1 and 2:
For control head having part numbers up to Index "K:"
For control head having part numbers up to Index "K:"
- Should the vehicle during On Board Diagnostic (OBD) not move more than 1 km/h, this speed is indicated.
For control head having part numbers beginning with the index letter "M"
- For vehicles with control head having part number beginning with index letter "M" the voltage for illumination of display (terminal 58d) is calculated by instrument cluster, the calculated value is determined via the Can-Bus to -E87-.
