TEST CONDITION FOR DISPLAY FIELD 2 - CRUISE CONTROL

If the specified value in display field 2 for "cruise control system release" (1000) is not obtained:

Check control module identification of current Engine Control Module (ECM).

VAG 1551 scan tool display indicates control module coding, for example:

CONTROL MODULE CODING EXAMPLE - CRUISE CONTROL

V8/5V	Construction style of engine (V engine, 8 cylinder, 5 valves)
"G" i.e. no indication	Vehicle with or without cruise control system
D..	Data version (software version) of control module
Coding 6753	Engine Control Module (ECM) coding
WSC 06812	Factory identification from VAG 1551, with which the last coding was performed

If there is no "G" under component identification, cruise control must be activated first. See CCS, activating .

Only for vehicles with automatic transmission:

Road test vehicle and exceed 30 km at least once. Do not switch off engine upon completion. Leave selector lever in -2-, -3- or -D-.
Engage parking brake.

NOTE: For vehicles with automatic transmission, the voltage supply for the cruise control switch is not switched on until a speed of above 30 km/h is reached with selector lever in position -2-, -3- or -D-. The voltage supply will then be maintained at ideal, as long as a driving mode (aside from -1- or -R-) is selected.

If the specified values in display field 4 are not obtained, although switch B is set to "ON" (0011):
