Operation 1: Checking DTC memory

Connect vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051 or V.A.G 1551 Scan Tool and select engine electronics control unit with "Address word" 01 VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC, TESTING AND INFORMATION SYSTEM VAS 5051, CONNECTING AND SELECTING ENGINE CONTROL MODULE or V.A.G 1551 SCAN TOOL, CONNECTING AND SELECTING ENGINE CONTROL MODULE . Ignition must be switched on.

Enter "02" for function "Check DTC memory" and confirm entry with Q key.

The display shows the number of stored DTCs or "No DTC detected!"

If a DTC is stored:

Correct malfunction and erase DTC memory. Perform a road test and check DTC memory again to check.

If no DTC is stored:

Press -->key.
