Test requirements
- Fuse OK per wiring diagram
See appropriate System Wiring Diagram article.
- VAG 1551 or VAS 5051 Scan Tool (ST) connected. See VAS 5051 TESTER OR VAG 1551/1552 SCAN TOOL (ST), CONNECTING .
NOTE:
- If the display remains blank, check the voltage supply of the VAG1551 Scan Tool (ST) according to the wiring diagram.
- Additional operating instructions can printed out by pressing the HELP button.
- The --> button is used to advance through the program sequence.
- If an incorrect entry is made, press the -C- button to escape.
- In "Rapid data transfer" operating mode 1 the "Automatic Test Sequence" function 00 can be carried out. This checks DTC memory of all vehicle control modules (with OBD capability) automatically.
- Switch ignition on.
- Switch printer on by pressing PRINT button (indicator lamp in button lights up.)
- Press button -1- to select "Rapid data transfer" operating mode 1.
Indicated on display
Address word for Telematics: 75
- Press buttons -7- and -5- to enter "Telematics" address word 75.
NOTE:
- The title for address word 75 may appear in the VAG 1551/1552 or VAS 5051 tester as "Emergency call module".
- While the On Board Diagnostic (OBD) program is running, the emergency call function is deactivated.
- After display appears, press -Q- button to confirm input.

- 8E0035616: Part No. for Telematics
- Telematik USA1: system description
- 0001: Telematics software version
- Coding 0002333: Telematics coding
- WSC XXXXX: dealership number
NOTE:
Check/confirm coding using coding table. See Coding table:

- Press --> button.
- If display shows one of the following messages, carry out troubleshooting procedure as described in troubleshooting program for diagnostic wiring.
