Camshaft oil seals, removing and installing: Removing

NOTE:
If one oil seal is leaking, replace seals on both sides.
- Remove toothed belt from camshaft sprockets, see TOOTHED BELT, REMOVING FROM CAMSHAFT SPROCKETS .
- Align inner part of 3240 with outer part and secure with set screw.
- Lubricate threaded part of 3240 with oil, apply to seal and with pressure screw into seal as far as possible.
- Release set screw and turn inner part against camshaft until seal is extracted.
- Place extractor in vice (at flat surfaces) and remove seal with pliers.
- Clean sealing surface on camshaft.
