Side panels on door sill side, removing and installing: Notes

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required 

• Engine and transmission holder VAS 6095

• Fixture for seat repair VAS 6136

1 - Backrest

2 - Rear side trim (sill side)

• Removal

• Remove seat → Front power seats with memory, removing and installing .
• Mount the fixture for seat repair VAS 6136 on the engine and transmission holder VAS 6095.
• Attach the front seat to the fixture for seat repair VAS 6136.
• Loosen footwell cover retaining strip from side panel Footwell cover retaining strip, loosening .

• Position a screwdriver to head of plastic rivet - 3  - (2x).
• Pry out plastic rivet - 3  - (2x) by turning the screwdriver.
• Remove screw - 4  -.
• Disengage rear side panel - 2  - at bracket - 5  - upward.

• Disconnect rear side panel - 2  - from front side panel - 8  - using a turning motion in direction of arrow.
• Pull side panel - 8  - toward front in order to disengage eyelet - 7  - from bracket - 11  -.
• Disengage front side panel - 8  - upward at brackets - 6  - (2x).
• Open locking mechanism - 9  -.

• Disconnect connectors - 10  - (3x).
• Remove front side panel - 8  -.

• Installing 

Installation is reverse of removal. When doing so, note the following:

• Slide footwell fastening strip into side trim bracket Footwell cover retaining strip, loosening
