Readiness code
The readiness code appears as an 8 -digit display in measured value block 086, display zone 1. Each of the 8 digits is assigned to a specific system of relevance to emissions.
In the course of a test series which has to be implemented in full, the self-diagnosis checks operation of each of these systems and switches the appropriate position in the 8 -digit display from "1" to "0" on successful completion of the individual test concerned.
The readiness code generated on successful completion of the test series is "0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0" (measured value block 086, display zone 1).
A fault entry is made in the fault memory if an individual test has been completed, but with the result "not OK". Interrogate fault memory. See FAULT MEMORY, INTERROGATING AND ERASING .
The readiness code is reset to "0 1 1 0 1 1 0 1" if:
- Fault memory has been erased
- A new engine control module is installed
In this case a new readiness code must be generated. See READINESS CODE, GENERATING .
