Work sequence

• Connect vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051 (see VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC, TESTING AND INFORMATION SYSTEM VAS 5051, CONNECTING AND SELECTING FUNCTIONS  ) and select vehicle system "01 - Engine electronics" from list. Engine must be idling.

• From list -1- select diagnostic function "08 - Reading measured value block".

1. - Enter display group

• Use keypad -2- to enter "086" for "Display group number 086" and confirm by touching Q key.

• Check display in zone -1-.
  • Specification: 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0

Note on display zone 1: 

Of primary importance is display zone 1. This display shows which system has been checked by the self -diagnosis since the fault memory was last erased or a new control module installed. After erasing the fault memory, all values which can be checked are set to "1"; on successful completion of testing the values are set to "0".

If specification "0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0" is obtained in display zone 1:

• Touch > key.

If reading does not match specification:

• Generate readiness code. See READINESS CODE, GENERATING  .
