Control module, coding: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Audi A6, 2003 Audi A6, 2002 Audi A6, 2001 Audi A6, and 2000 Audi A6. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
  • If the correct coding for the vehicle is not displayed, or if the control module has been replaced, the control module must be coded.
  • Coding is checked via a VAG 1551 Scan Tool or VAS 5051.
  • During control module identification a 5-digit code must always be displayed.
  • Incorrect coding may lead to higher emissions and increased strain on the automatic transmission resulting from harsh gearshift jolts.
