Instrument cluster consists of speedometer, Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) odometer and clock, tachometer, coolant and oil temperature gauges, fuel gauge, voltmeter, warning lights, gear selector position display, LCD outside temperature display, various control switches and driver information system. See Fig 1 .
Instrument cluster functions are controlled by an internal microprocessor with OBD-II capabilities. If faults occur within instrument cluster components or inputs, DTCs will be set. Driver information system monitors the condition of brake system, coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. When a fault occurs in one of these systems, a symbol is displayed in the driver information window.
