Drivers side airbag unit, removing and installing

CAUTION:

Safety precautions when working on airbag .
- Use size T30 Torx wrench to remove airbag unit.
- Disconnect connector - -.
- Set airbag unit down with impact cushion facing upward.
- Installing
- Make sure connector - - is heard to engage.
- Screw (7 Nm) on airbag unit.
CAUTION:
Make sure no one is in vehicle when connecting battery.
- Switch ignition on and connect battery Ground (GND) strap.
NOTE:
- After connecting the battery, check vehicle equipment (radio, clock, electric windows) → 91 RADIO, TELEPHONE, NAVIGATION, TRIP COMPUTER or Owners Manual.
- If the Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) K75 signals a malfunction after assembling, then DTC memory must be erased and checked again using vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051 A scan tool.
4 - Multi-point socket head bolt, 60 Nm
- Always to be replaced
5 - Torx bolts (T 30)
- 7 Nm
6 - Torx wrench (T 30)
7 - Coil connector with slip ring
