Trim for steering column switch, removing and installing

Remove airbag unit driver side. See appropriate Air Bag Restraint Systems article in Restraints.
Remove steering wheel. See appropriate Air Bag Restraint Systems article in Restraints.
Remove lower gap cover in direction of arrow.

Remove bolts -1- and remove handle -2- for steering column adjustment. See Fig 3.
Remove bolts -7- and -8- and remove lower trim for steering column switch -4-.
If necessary disconnect connector for switch -6- or remove switch.
NOTE: In the illustration, trim for steering column switch up to m.y. 06.97 is shown.
