Basic Setting
Basic setting must be performed after replacing a headlight, axle sensor or the control module. Observe the following:
- Vehicle must be in a precisely defined load condition.
NOTE:
Current specified values and procedures for load condition can be found in HEADLIGHTS, ADJUSTING

- Rock vehicle (move bumpers up and down several times, allowing vehicle to come to a rest on its own).
Perform basic setting:
- Press buttons -0- and -4-. (04 selects the "basic setting" function 4.

- Press -Q- button to confirm input.

- Input display group number 001.
- Press -Q- button to confirm input.

- Headlights are moved to set position.

- Headlights are now in the set position. Adjust headlights using headlight adjustment tool (e.g. VAS5046). Basic setting 1 switches the adjustment mode off and enters "headlights not set" into DTC memory.
- Press --> button.

- Press -Q- button to confirm input.

- Input display group number 2.
- Press -Q- button to confirm input.

- The control module has now learned this position as the adjustment position. The entry in DTC memory ("Headlights not set") is erased and adjustment mode is reinitiated.
- Press --> button.
