Instrument cluster

After a service has been carried out the Service Reminder Indicator (SRI) must be reset accordingly.

The SRI can be reset using the adaptation function on the VAG1551 Scan Tool (ST). See ADAPTATION (SCAN TOOL FUNCTION 10)  .

The SRI can also be reset using the following procedure:

• Switch ignition off.
• Press reset button for trip recorder in instrument cluster and, at same time switch ignition on.
• The message "Service OIL" will appear on the trip recorder display.
• Pull out clock adjuster knob in instrument cluster and hold in position until message "Service OIL" is cancelled.

  The trip recorder display will now read "Service - - -".

• Press trip recorder reset button again to call up next service message.

  The message "Service INSP" will appear on the trip recorder display.

• Pull out clock adjuster knob in instrument cluster and hold in position until message "Service INSP" is cancelled.

  The trip recorder display will now read "Service -".

• Switch ignition off.
