Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) table
NOTE:
- The following table lists all DTCs with corresponding 5-digit code numbers that can be recognized by the control module and that can be printed out.
- The number of DTCs only appear in the printout.
- Before replacing components, check the wiring connections to these components including ground connections according to the wiring diagram.
- After the repair is completed, erase the DTC memory and then check DTC memory again using VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST).
- The DTC memory stores all static and sporadic malfunctions. A DTC is recognized as static when the malfunction occurs for at least 2 seconds (outside temperature for at least 60 seconds, engine coolant sensor for at least 2 minutes with the engine running). If the DTC is no longer recognized, the fault is stored as a sporadic fault and "ISP" appears in the right side of the display.
- After the ignition is turned on, all recognized DTCs are considered sporadic and only after they still exist after further 50 driving cycles they will be stored as static DTCs.
- If a sporadic DTC is no longer recognized after 50 driving cycles (ignition on for at least 5 minutes at vehicle speed of at least 30 km/h (18 MPH), it will be erased.
