Rear SUBFRAME: Installation

  1. To install, reverse removal procedure. Arrows on aluminum washers of bonded rubber bushing must face opposite direction of travel (toward rear). See Fig 1 .

  2. Use tap to clean threads in final drive flange. Use NEW subframe bolts, lower strut assembly bolts, brake caliper bolts and driveshaft bolts.
  3. Torque fasteners to specification. Bolted connections in rubber bushings should only be torqued to specification once vehicle is resting on its own weight. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Align rear subframe. See REAR SUBFRAME  under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTION.
  5. Adjust parking brake. Check wheel alignment. See PROCEDURES & SPECIFICATIONS article in WHEEL ALIGNMENT.
