Assembly (Bushings)

Apply Installation Sliding Oil (G 294 421 A1) to new bushing.
Assemble new bushing and tool on subframe. Bonded rubber bushing must be inserted so that recess (arrow) faces marking (1). See Fig 1 . Eccentric hole (B) in bonded rubber bushing must point in direction of travel (arrow A).

Now attach bonded rubber bushing and special tools. See Fig 2 .

CAUTION: Make sure that bonded rubber bushing does not tilt while it is being pulled in, otherwise outer ring could be damaged!

Pull in bonded rubber bushing until chamfer (arrows) is in front of hole for axle body. See Fig 3 . Now check whether chamfer of outer ring makes uniform contact. Correct installation position again, if necessary. Now, slowly pull the bonded rubber bushing completely in. Have helper align bushing and tool when installing.
