Step 4: Adaptation of kickdown function: Condition

Engine stopped, ignition on

Indicated on VAS 5051:

- Enter display group

Use keypad -2- to enter "063" for "Display group number 063" and confirm by touching Q key.

Activate basic setting by touching key -A-.

NOTE: User is then prompted to "Actuate kickdown".

Floor accelerator pedal beyond kickdown point and keep it pressed.

NOTE: "Kickdown ADP. in progress" is displayed during adaptation of kickdown point. "Kickdown ADP. OK" appears following successful adaptation of kickdown point.

Check display in zone -4-.

Note				If "ERROR" is displayed: Interrogate fault memory, see FAULT MEMORY, INTERROGATING AND ERASING

Note on display zone 4:

"ERROR" may be displayed, for example, if, following the tester prompt, the accelerator pedal is not floored immediately or if the accelerator pedal is released with adaptation already in progress but not yet completed. In both cases exit from "Basic setting" mode and perform adaptation again.

If specification "ADP OK" is obtained:

Touch > key.
Proceed with next step.
