Step 10: Checking oxygen sensor heating: Condition

- Engine idling
Indicated on VAS 5051:

- - Enter display group
- Use keypad -2- to enter "041" for "Display group number 041" and confirm by touching Q key.

- Activate basic setting by touching key -A-.
- Check display in zones -1- and -3-.
NOTE:
Specifications can be obtained faster by increasing the engine speed (accelerating).

Important notes on display groups 41 and 42 - display zones 1 and 3:
- Display zones 1 and 3 remain blank until oxygen sensors reach operating temperature (increase engine speed to attain specifications).
- Once the two oxygen sensors have reached their operating temperature, display zones 1 and 3 must indicate a resistance less than 0.9 kohm.
- Do not continue with testing until resistance less than 0.9 kohm is indicated in display zones 1 and 3.
- Touch > key.
- Proceed with next step.
