Speed Sensor (80 & 90 W/ A/T)

  1. Remove instrument cluster. Remove 26-terminal connector (Blue) from instrument cluster and install Test Harness (VW 1594/16). See Figure . Set Multimeter (US 1119) to 20 volt range. Connect (positive) lead to terminal No. 16 and (negative) lead to terminal No. 20. Turn ignition ON. Roll vehicle back and forth approximately 4 feet. Voltage should vary 0-12 volts. If not, check wiring for open, see appropriate chassis wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS section.
