Front Pads: Installation

NOTE: Always use new heat shield and self-locking bolts when replacing pads.
  1. Press piston back into caliper. Install brake pads with new heat shield between inner pad and piston. Heat shield must face piston. Swing caliper down into carrier.
  2. Install new lower self-locking mounting bolt. Tighten self-locking bolt to 26 ft. lb. (35 N.m). Reconnect pad wear indicator at plug and place plug in retainer.

Press piston back into caliper. Install brake pads and new heat shield. Place caliper in carrier. Tighten housing guide bolts to 18 ft. lb. (25 N.m). Reconnect pad wear indicator at plug and place plug in clip.
