Mechanical Adjustment
NOTE:
Hydraulic system fluid must be full and free of air.
- Brake pressure regulator is mounted on underside of body and connected to rear axle by operating spring. Adjustable regulator is on left rear side on 5000S and 5000CS Turbo and right rear side in 4000CS and Coupe GT models. Nonadjustable regulator of 4000CS Quattro is at right of brake master cylinder. 5000CS Quattro is on left rear side.
- Step firmly on brake pedal with vehicle on ground. Release pedal rapidly. Lever on pressure regulator should move. Raise vehicle until weight is off rear suspension. Push lever of regulator toward rear of vehicle until it reaches stop.
- Loosen lock nut holding plastic roller in place on bracket. Attach operating spring to lever and roller. Adjust roller position so that there is no play in spring and no tension on plastic roller. See Fig 1 . Tighten lock nut.
