Suspension - Rear: Description
Rear suspension consists of coil springs, shock absorbers, transverse rod and trailing arms. Some design differences occur between models.
The coil spring and shock absorber are combined into a MacPherson strut type assembly. On Coupe GT and 4000S models, a transverse rod is also used, and mounts diagonally in front of the axle beam. On 4000S Quattro, a lower control arm similar to the front suspension is used. An adjustable tie rod is used in place of a transverse rod. See Fig 1.
