Minimum Gas Pressure

  1. Relieve system pressure. Remove warning light switch from servo. Using hollow banjo bolt and copper washers, connect Pressure Gauge (VW 1441) to switch opening. Place thicker washer between banjo and servo and thinner washer between bolt head and banjo.
  2. Start engine and run at idle until reading on pressure gauge reaches 2030 psi (140 Bar). Turn engine off and pump brake pedal. Watch gauge for pressure reading from which needle drops rapidly to zero. If drop-off pressure is lower than 435 psi (30 Bar), accumulator is defective and must be replaced.
