- Disconnect wiring from speedometer sensor. Connect voltmeter to outer contacts of fuel sensor connector. Turn ignition on. The reading should be battery voltage.
- If battery voltage is not attained, repair break in wiring. If battery voltage is attained, remove speedometer from transmission.
- Reconnect wires to speedometer sensor. Connect voltmeter between contact 2 and 3. Turn ignition on. Turn speedometer clockwise. The voltage reading should be 0.0-8.0 volts.
- Turn ignition off. If voltage reading was incorrect, replace speedometer sensor. If voltage reading was correct, check continuity between wire from speedometer sensor connector contact 2 and 5 of 25 point connector of computer control unit. See Fig 1 . Resistance should be approximately 0.0 ohms. If resistance is incorrect, check break in wiring. If resistance is correct, replace computer control unit and/or computer.
