4000S Models

  1. Check battery and voltage stabilizer for proper voltage. Disconnect wire from sending unit for fuel gauge. Connect Tester (VW 1301) between fuel gauge sending unit and ground. Start engine.
  2. With test dial setting at 60, fuel gauge should read 1/1. With dial set to 155, gauge should read 1/2. Set dial to 302 and gauge should read "RESERVE". Needle of gauge must be within range for each dial setting. Keep tester connected for a minimum of 1 minute to allow gauge needle to reach checking points
