Description And Operation
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- (1) Fuel vapor entry from the active charcoal canister
- (2) Outlet of fuel vapor towards the intake collector (after the throttle body)
- (3) Outlet of fuel vapor to the intake sleeve (air entry into turbocharger)
- (4) Shutters
When signaled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) the evaporative emissions purge solenoid opens the passage between the fuel vapor entry and exit points. When vacuum is greater at the intake sleeve inlet to the turbocharger, the exit shutter at (3) opens while the exit shutter at (2) closes.
When vacuum is greater at the intake collector the exit shutter (4) at (2) opens while the exit shutter (4) at (3) closes.
