Description And Operation
The Fuel vapor recirculation system consists of the following components:
- (1) Right bank evaporative emissions purge solenoid
- (2) Left bank evaporative emissions purge solenoid
- (3) Fuel vapor supply pipe from the charcoal filter to the evaporative emissions purge solenoid
- (4) Active charcoal filter canister
The pipe coming from the active charcoal filter canister is divided into two branches by a T-joint. The two branches allow the vapors to be sent to the inlet of the two evaporative emissions purge solenoids (3-4).
- (1) Fuel vapor piping coming from the active charcoal filter canister
- (2) T- joint
- (3) Right bank evaporative emissions purge solenoid
- (4) Left bank evaporative emissions purge solenoid

The vapor recirculation flow towards the intake sleeve entrance is possible because of a venturi effect vacuum created where the vapor pipe is connected to the sleeve itself.
- (1) Solenoid canister connection pipe-intake sleeve at the entrance to the turbocharger
- (2) Intercooler air outlet connection pipe-intake sleeve at the entrance to the turbocharger
At location (2) the air under pressure enters from the intercooler, runs along the "V" channel, creating a venturi effect vacuum at point (1) where the fuel vapors enter.
