Left Cylinder Head Intake Or Exhaust

NOTE:

If the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) solenoid needs to be replaced, connect the diagnostic scan tool, navigate to "ECM" in the "Miscellaneous functions" menu and start the "Reset adaptive parameters" routine.

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.

  2. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (1) from the VVT solenoid (2b).
  3. Remove the screw (2a).
  4. Remove the VVT solenoid (2b) complete with O-ring (2c).

INSTALLATION 

  1. Remove the old O-ring and install a new O-ring to the VVT solenoid.

  2. Install the VVT solenoid (1a) with a new O-ring.
  3. Tighten the retaining screw (1b) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Connect the wiring harness connector (2) to the VVT solenoid.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
  6. If the VVT solenoid was replaced, connect the diagnostic scan tool, navigate to "ECM" in the "Miscellaneous functions" menu and start the "Reset adaptive parameters" routine.
