Removal And Installation: Left

NOTE:
If the knock sensor needs to be replaced, connect the scan tool, navigate to "PCM" in the "Miscellaneous functions" menu and start the "Reset adaptive parameters" routine.
REMOVAL
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Remove the left cylinder head fuel rail. Refer to
RAIL, FUEL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
.
- Disconnect the left cylinder head knock sensor electric connector (1a) and release the sensor from the retaining bracket (1b) and from the retaining clip (1c).
- Remove the knock sensor retaining screw (1a) and remove the sensor (1b) from the left cylinder head.
INSTALLATION
- Inspect the knock sensor and wiring harness connector integrity.
- Install the left cylinder head knock sensor (1a) to the cylinder head and tighten the retaining screw (1b) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATION .
- Connect the electric connector to the left cylinder head knock sensor and engage the sensor to the retaining bracket and the retaining clip.
- Install the left cylinder head fuel rail. Refer to RAIL, FUEL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
