DNA Driving Mode Selector

DESCRIPTION 

The vehicle is equipped with a Vehicle Dynamic (DNA) driving mode selector switch. The selection switch offers various modes which can be selected by the driver according to the increased technological level offered by the various trim levels available for this vehicle.

NOTE:

The DNA driving mode selector will be inoperative if the vehicle has an active check engine light. Refer to the appropriate diagnostic information to correct the condition.

There are three DNA switch selections are according to the vehicle trim level:

  1. Dynamic - Natural - Advanced Efficiency
  2. Dynamic - Natural - Advanced Efficiency and controlled shock absorbers button
  3. Race - Dynamic - Natural - Advanced Efficiency and controlled shock absorbers button (Only for the Quadrifoglio version).

When the driving mode selector is in the "Natural and Advanced Efficiency" position, the programming for the modules involved are calibrated to driving aimed at increasing fuel economy and reducing emissions.

When the driving mode selector is in the "Dynamic" position, the programming for the modules involved in this mode are calibrated for sporty driving while maintaining the emission pollution strategies.

When the driving mode selector is in the "Race" position, the programming for the modules involved in this mode implement a "Track Day" driving mode: enhancements of the sporty features of the vehicle.

In the "Dynamic" and "Race" positions, when the button with the shock absorber electronic control symbol directly in the middle of the DNA selector, the Chassis Domain Control Module (CDCM) controls the shock absorbers solenoid valves directly to increase the damping level and driving comfort.

OPERATION 

The management strategy is implemented by the Body Control Module (BCM) which dialogues via CAN with the various involved control units.

The module programming modifications according to the DNA switch position are shown in the following table:
