Clutch B

DISASSEMBLY

  1. Position the input/output shaft and the P4 annulus drum assembly (1) on (special tool #8925-3, Assembly, Press Fixture) (3) with (special tool #1130, Splitter, Bearing/Gear) (4) and remove the clutch plates (2).

NOTE:

If clutch discs are being replaced, soak in 8HP transmission fluid before assembly. 

  1. Position the input/output and the P4 annulus drum assembly (1) on (special tool #8925-3, Assembly, Press Fixture) (3) and (special tool #1130, Splitter, Bearing/Gear) (4).

  2. Install the backing plate (1) first, bevel down.
  3. Install the B-Clutch plates. If equipped with wave springs (3), install the first fiber plate (2) on the backing plate (1), then install a wave spring (3) (it will lay just outside the diameter of the fiber plate), then a steel plate (4), and repeat until all plates are installed.
  4. Install the B-Clutch wave plate (5).
  5. Install the P1 annulus onto the input/output shaft.
  6. Install the correct selectable shim onto the P1 annulus.
