Left - Downstream

NOTE:

If the oxygen sensor needs to be replaced, connect the diagnostic equipment to the vehicle, go to "Powertrain Control Module (PCM)" in the "Miscellaneous Functions" menu and start the "Adaptive Parameters Reset" procedure.

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the air cleaner body and ducts. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, SIDE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  4. Disconnect the wire harness connection (1) for the oxygen sensor.
  5. Open the retaining clips and disengage the oxygen sensor wiring.

  6. Remove the left downstream oxygen sensor (1) from the catalytic converter.

INSTALLATION

  1. Position the left downstream oxygen sensor (1) in its housing on the catalytic converter and tighten it to the proper torque specification. Refer to appropriate service information .
  2. Connect the oxygen sensor wiring in the retaining clips.
  3. Connect the wire harness connection of the oxygen sensor.
  4. Install the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, SIDE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Install the air cleaner body and ducts. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Connect the negative battery cable.
